We’re so excited about all the projects we have going on at LTW Design, but this time of year is also about slowing down. The temperatures have dropped, the sun is setting early, so we’re taking these cues from nature to reflect and unwind whenever we can.
This month, the whole team is taking a much needed week off over Thanksgiving to recharge, rest, and spend time with family. I’m thrilled to celebrate Thanksgiving on the beach with my 3 kids, husband and extended family. We will soak up the sun, sand, and sea without work, phones or computers… truly disconnecting for the first time in years. (Highly recommend!) The time away allows for creativity, inspiration and new ideas.
We couldn’t ask for a better way to kick off the holiday season and there are so many more moments to look forward to before 2021 comes to a close. Let’s start with decorating…
Obsessed With: Minimalist Holiday Vibes
Like many, I’m totally in holiday décor mode by the end of November. But, as a warm minimalist, I approach getting festive with home décor a little differently. At my house, I’m making simple switches to ease into the holiday season with low stress, but lots of cheer. For example, I love focusing on texture versus red and green colors when warming things up for winter.

Pieces I’m loving: Custom Everything
You know how much we love creating custom furniture and our recent NoHo design project in NYC, kept screaming for custom and we listened. We designed a custom daybed chaise, cabinet and vanity with a stone inlay. The LTW team is still talking about how the Ivy cabinet with vertical fluting turned out. We designed it to fit an end-of-the-hall nook in this gorgeous new apartment downtown. Watching it all come to life by our extremely talented furniture makers was a huge highlight for us this month and now I have so many custom ideas for our upcoming projects…stay tuned!
I love the custom process bc we dream up the pieces sketch them out, revise a few times, then work with exceptional artisans to make them a reality.
Project of the Month: NoHo Design Project
In the September Monthly Edit, we gave you a teaser of our NoHo Project and now we are giving a sneak peek at the finished result. So light, coastal, and airy, you would never know it’s downtown New York City.
Living full-time by the water, our clients knew they wanted a coastal vibe for their NYC digs and we had fun blending coastal with a downtown feel…downtown coastal? Not sure if that’s a thing, but for this project it was exactly what we wanted. And, to achieve the level of luxury the space also required, designing custom pieces was a natural fit (no pun intended).
Our clients’ pied-à-terre sits at NoHo’s renowned 40 Bleecker, a luxury condominium with architecture by Rawlings Architects, design by Ryan Korban, and landscape architecture by Hollander Design. With 10-foot ceilings, clean lines, and beautiful bones they created, the apartment was a perfect canvas for us to design our clients dream home.
Korban created a sophisticated neutral palette for the finishes, kitchens + bathrooms for every apartment, which was music to our ears. Our task? Building upon this foundation with furnishings, textures, wall coverings, and styling to make this NYC apartment feel like home for our clients, who love the beach.
To bring in warmth and the relaxed seaside feel, we made custom pillows, nightstands, a custom daybed, and more. Their abode is now something highly personal and one-of-a-kind with symmetry + light throughout, it’s a refuge of coastal calm all while looking out on beautiful city views.

What’s in my closet: Turltenecks, Turtlenecks, Turtlenecks!
Did I mention turtlenecks? I honestly can’t have enough. Cashmere turtlenecks are my go-to this time of year. I’ll buy 2-3 of the same one bc I know I’ll wear it out and want another and then it’ll be out of stock. So when I find one I love, I’ll buy a few. My current fave is by Free People. I have it in all the neutrals (shocker!) You can shop it is below along with a few of my other favorites.

Gather With A Grateful Heart
In the spirit of being thankful, we want to express our gratitude to all of our incredible clients, artisans, upholsterers, painters, woodworkers and amazing vendors we work with all year long bringing our visions to life. Thank you!
Well, that’s a wrap on this Month’s Edit. I hope you’ve been enjoying these monthly catch-ups as much as I’ve loved creating them for you. (Can you believe there’s just one month left in 2021?!)
From the LTW Team, we wish you a calm start to the holiday season and we’ll see you next month!
