LTW Design stages home of actor Bruce Willis & Emma Heming in Bedford, NY. This secluded 22-acre country retreat, nestled in horse riding country, has been one of our favorite projects making global headlines in the media showcasing our signature style of clean lines and layered textures.
Just under 50 minutes from the high rises of Manhattan, in the Hudson Valley, this private oasis could not feel more away from it all.
On the market for $12.95 million, the Willis estate consists of a main house, with 5 bedrooms and three other dwellings: a recently refurbished 3 bedroom farmhouse, a charming country cottage also with 3 bedrooms and a one bedroom apartment. The land also comprises of a tennis court, saltwater swimming pool with cabana, vegetable garden and garages.
The Main House
The main house perched majestically atop an expansive hilltop with panoramic views, is a feast for the eyes. One cannot help but be enchanted by the landscape which fills the windows to the rear of the property, with views to the Reservoir. It is a sight which changes with the seasons.
The shingle-clad Craftsman-inspired main house pulls you into an entry which is a grand as the plot upon which it sits.
It was important for LTW Design to showcase this hallway with its stunning dark wood floors, magnificent oak beams gracing the ceiling and its view to the Great Room overlooking the water & hilltops. The entry, is the ‘smile’ of a home, welcoming you in. It is the first room buyer’s step into and it sets the tone for rest of the house. It is a room we always give great attention to.
From the entry you are also lead into the Dining Room to your right, complete with a fire place for cold winter nights.
Leading down a long corridor, you are met with an impressive study complete with an entertainment system and on the opposite wind sits the kitchen with endless water and hilltop views.
The expansive lower level of the house consists of a guest room, a gym and a temperature controlled wine cellar with a capacity of 1500 bottles.
A custom wine cellar is one of the many spectaulcar amenities on this property.
Perhaps one of our favorite rooms in the main house is the Tower Room which leads off of the Master Bedroom up a winding staircase. We transformed this room into an observatory since it offers wall to wall unobstructed views.
The Farmhouse
It is hard not to get swept up and charmed by the recently refurbished farmhouse (the larger of the two guest houses) which immediately makes you feel at home with its low ceilings and snug feel to it.
This Farmhouse is also a 3 bedroom guest house, with an open floor plan that is an entertainer’s dream.
